Bakersfield's mail processing plant on Pegasus drive may not close after all.

Wednesday night, senators in Washington passed a bill that gives the Postal Service an 11 billion dollar cash infusion. It prevents many post offices from closing, and requires further studies instead.

The U.S. Postal Service proposed closing the processing plant on Pegasus to save money and sending our mail to Santa Clarita.

The measure now goes to the House which has yet to consider its version of the bill.
