PG&E has been ordered to provide clean water sources to the town of Hinkley whose groundwater was contaminated, inspiring the film Erin Brockovich.

More than 200 homes will be provided a water filtration system or new wells that tap a deeper, unpolluted aquifer.

Officials say residents in Hinkley have been living off bottled water since January 2011 but water in kitchen sinks and showers is still contaminated with chromium. In a groundbreaking case, Brockovich proved the utility used hexavalent chromium to fight corrosion in its equipment, later polluting groundwater.

well, finally pacific graft and extortion is forced to do what is right for the town of Hinkley. they will send out the propaganda that this is all their idea of customer relations etc. but you can believe that these people do NOTHING that will cost money to help anyone, unless they can get some good PR out of it. I watched all of the little games this company plays for over 25 years, and it has not changed, one other thing, if you don't think the rate payers are not going to have to pay for this major goof up, you are living in another world that is not required to hook up to pg&e.......
