The Mohawk Street extension project will receive one million dollars. The announcement was made today by Senator Michael Rubio of Shafter after unanimous approval.

Earlier this week, a representative from Rubio's office testified before the California Transportation Commission about the strong need for this important project. The extension will help connect Hageman Road to Rosedale Highway.

Construction is slated to begin in May.
