The search for a missing pilot from Bakersfield and his passengers has come to an end. The small plane that took off from Shafter a week ago was found Sunday in Utah and there are no survivors.

Family members say pilot Matthew Ahrens, his girlfriend Trista Meyer, and her 9-year-old daughter Shyann Lenz were visiting Kern County for the Thanksgiving weekend.

Ahrens grew up in Bakersfield and graduated from South High School.

The three were headed back home to Gillette, Wyoming.

The plane was found Sunday morning. The National Transportation Safety Board is now investigating the crash.
