A man has been arrested, following a nine hour SWAT standoff in west Bakersfield. The Sheriff's Department was called to the one thousand block of Butterfly Lane early Sunday morning near Brimhall and Renfro Road.
There they found 39-year-old Jeffrey Onstine in front of his home holding a gun. Deputies say he seemed to be distraught and was making threatening remarks. They say he went inside with his family and refused to come out.
The SWAT team evacuated the neighborhood.
Onstine eventually surrendered later Sunday morning, and was arrested and booked on charges of spousal abuse and child endangerment.
