The massive fire that gutted a furniture store a few months ago in Bakersfield was no accident, according to a newly-filed search warrant obtained by 17 News.

Arson investigators suspect Peter Phan, the owner of the Home Decor furniture store, intended the building to burn so he could collect on a million-dollar insurance policy.  Investigators determined the fire started in 3 different areas, where furniture, cardboard and cushions had been stacked, but found no accidental causes.

Our attempts to reach Phan for comment were unsuccessful.
