Kern County Animal Control is looking for foster homes for horses.

The shelter has room for the horses, but it is looking for homes where people can work with and care for the animals daily.

The hope is to place all of the horses they currently have, in foster care.

"We have over ten horses with more to come. Often times, they stay for weeks or months at a time. We're really looking for foster homes to get them out, handled, fed, sort of prepared for an adoptive home," said Jen Woodard, KC Animal Control Director.

If you're interested in fostering a horse, you can call Kern County Animal Control at 321-3000.
