California Highway Patrol officials say a head-on crash at Wheeler Ridge Road, south of Bear Mountain Boulevard left one person dead.
Officers say around 5:00 a.m. Monday morning, a woman driving a Lexus was heading north on Wheeler Ridge Road when she fell asleep and drifted into the opposite lane. The Lexus slammed into a minivan head-on, killing one person in the van.
The woman driving the Lexus sustained major injuries to her leg. Four others were injured.
