Three men were taken to the hospital Thursday night after a shooting in southeast Bakersfield.

It happened just before 8 p.m. outside Aneese Market in the 600 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Bakersfield police say the victims were standing outside the market when they were approached by unknown suspects.

Officers say shots were fired, hitting the three men. One man was struck in the head. Their wounds are described as minor to moderate.

Police don't have a motive and the investigation is ongoing.

About an hour later, there was another shooting outside a market in south Bakersfield.

Police say a man was standing near the Hollywood Market at East Planz Road and Shellmacher Avenue, when he heard gunshots.

He took off running and was struck by a bullet. The victim's wounds are not life threatening.

Police are looking for two men in a dark-colored sedan.

If you have information on either shooting, call the BPD at 327-7111.
