Deadly Lamont shootout: neighborhood locked down, schools cancelled

The search for a gunman who shot at deputies in Lamont canceled classes for the day and kept many people from going to work. It started as a traffic stop and ended more than ten hours later with the suspect dead.

Three times he tried to murder deputies--running from the original stop, again when located a couple of hours later, and then shooting at the SWAT team who successfully shot and killed him. I'm sure his parents will tell reporters what a "great kid" he was, but I'm thrilled that he wont' be able to victimize anyone else, and his career of being a burden to society just ended. Great job deputies!!
