UPDATE: Pacific Gas & Electric says power was restored at 12:41pm.
A PG&E power outage is affecting about 1,200 homes and businesses and creating traffic problems in southwest Bakersfield.
The power went out around 10:45 a.m. The affected area covers Brimhall Road south to Kroll Way and from Mondavi east to Ashe Road.
The cause of the outage is under investigation and PG&E estimates the power will be restored at 1:30 p.m.
