It is a proven fact. Most kids are suspended for not doing anything wrong.

Here's another one for ya.... a kid my son knows called another kid a jew, ALL the kids involved including the one that was called a jew said it was this other kid. The vice principle searches everyone's backpack & my son has a book in his backpack called "summer of my german soldier". I get a call from the vp saying my son has nazi books in his possesion & we need to talk about it. He didn't much appreciate it when I showed up & showed him the stamp stating the book was from the school library & it was mandatory reading for his english class. I gave tohe book to the vp & told him to keep it lol. Gotta love the Zero tolerance policy lol.

"Fire Em All" - Most schools have an In-House suspension system where the students do stay on campus during their suspension. I think it's a complete joke! The school doesn't get the funding if the student stays home, and that is the ONLY reason there are In-House suspension systems at schools! Furthermore, it IS the parent's responsibility if they are raising egotistical, misbehaving students! If the pressure was put back on the parents to find a babysitter and/or hide the video games while their child is at home suspended, then I bet the parents would be fed up and start raising their children with more structure, discipline, and consequences! This little sugar-coated life for parents AND children is why our country seems to be going to Hell in a handbasket!

Yes I agree stop sheltering your kids. They become insecure large, and all over the place. They can't have a relationship. They become single parents living off there kids. Put mental abuse on to there kids causing them to be obese. What ever happened to teaching write and wrong. Then may be you can be something, walk around with your head held high.

Problem with the NO TOLERANCE POLICY is it penalizes the parents. What the hell do you do with a kid that has to stay home for 3 days to a week? Hide the Nintendo? Hire a babysitter? If they crap in the school's backyard, that's where they should be punished. I don't care if they have to sacrifice 25 lunch priods or 50 recesses.Make them pick up trash, tutor students, get turtored, cleanup the cafeteria for the workers, whatever...

This is EXACTLY why most of the youth today show no respect or fear for authority! All kids have to do today is run to mommy and daddy claiming an injustice, and the kids' words are never questioned, and the school is deemed at fault because their baby is being picked on. SHUT UP already! I love the "No Tolerance" policy! My child knows that if she just follows the rules, pays attention, and shows respect, then she will not be put in a position to be accused of something she didn't do. Quit sheltering and babying these kids! Let them ride out the suspension, life isn't over, let them learn a lesson, and build a bridge and GET OVER IT! Geeze! What a bunch of cry babies!

After raising 3 boys in the Bakersfield School District with all the suspensions, I got your "zero tolerance' hanging...

This time parents are claiming that the kids were playing around, so they're upset. But, what if it was more than that and someone was hurt? They'd be screaming their heads off that the school didn't do enough and a lawyer would be involved. Schools are at the point that they can't take chances anymore. The parents weren't there and neither were any of us so it's up to the school and the kids to tell us.

If parents will teach their kids right from wrong might help! Then in some cases like when my son punched out a perverted student for grabbing his girlfriend in a sexual way I agree the schools are idiots, they kicked out my son and sent the pervented kid back to class even after the girl reported what he did.I myself proud my son stood up for the girl.

Well in my case I was shown the bubble letters my son was suspended for and the woodshop project he got the letters from. Seems some do get into education to suspend.
