The Bakersfield-Delano area has been named one of the best performing metros in the country.
The study, done by the Milkin Institute shows we ranked 19th. Last year, we were ranked 47.
The report is based on criteria like promoting economic vitality based on job creation, and quality of new jobs. It essentially means Bakersfield salaries are increasing and our local economy and businesses are thriving.
The report showed energy played a big role in our city's progress.
The best performing city was San Jose.
