ESPN reports:

U.S. Anti-Doping Agency chief executive Travis Tygart says the agency will ban Lance Armstrong from cycling for life and strip him of his seven Tour de France titles for doping.

Armstrong on Thursday night dropped any further challenges to USADA's allegations that he took performance-enhancing drugs to win cycling's premier event from 1999-2005.

Armstrong says USADA doesn't have the authority to vacate his Tour titles. However, Tygart told The Associated Press that USADA can do it.

Tygart called the Armstrong case a "heartbreaking" example of a win-at-all costs approach to sports.

Armstrong, who retired last year, declined to enter arbitration -- his last option -- because he said he was weary of fighting accusations that have dogged him for years. He has consistently pointed to the hundreds of drug tests that he has passed as proof of his innocence.

Lance Armstrong kicked their rears, that's all there is to it, he has the titles with the American people either way. He always passed his drug test. He gave up because of the cost and his health. He will always be the #1 Tour de France champ!

Seems the Nazi Gestapo is alive and well, calling it's self the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency headed by Field Marshal Travis Tygart. Armstrong had passed every drug test during his career. A few competetors failed their drug tests and stared accusing Armstrong of also using drugs but his test do not uphold the accusations. Armstrong is tired of battling Field Marshal Tygart, spending his own money for defense against an agency funded by US taxpayers with unlimited dollars. So he's being striped of his wins. A lesson here for future US competitors, no matter how you abide by the rules you can be striped of any wins you achieve simply by being accused by a person found guilty.

They did not prove he cheated. There is nothing that shows he ever doped. He simply stopped fighting.

This agency is described as a 'quasi' government agency. They are answerable to no one. The person charged by them is not allowed to present evidence or defend themselves in the hearing. The person charged is also not given any of he evidence that is being used against them. And in the end the decision of this 'quasi' government agency is the final word. Now, Armstrong has submitted to every drug test requested, every hearing held, every investigation by every world wide oversite organization for years and all of those have come up with nothing. He even testified in front of Congress and they found nothing. All of a sudden this agency who is answerable to no one has the ability to do this to him. Just think, this could be the start of even more of these such 'quasi' government agencies down the line and it strips all constitutional rights away from the person charged. This is scary to me.

That's a stupid comment ruffy. Nothing has been proven. He was finally pushed to the point of giving up. He may be guilty. He may be innocent. We'll never know the truth. It amazes me that he can pass a test while he is competing but years later his blood is suddenly tainted.I It's sad that an agency funded by the American taxpayer is so relentless in destroying the reputation of an American.

I'm sorry to hear this. I really thought Lance was being put under a microscope and accusations made because of his wins, but now it seems he is busted. But when you cheat, it will eventually catch up with you
