Plasticmouse75, this is not just happening here in CA, it is happening nationwide. Look at Virginia, their gun sales have risen 73% since 2006. Violent crime involving firearms has gone down nearly 30%. Several other states have shown these same results.

A correlation is simply a relationship and does not state whether it is a direct or indirect relation or if it is simply a coincidence. In Bakersfield, guns sales are up. Deaths related to guns are up slightly. What is not being told and, perhaps, would be a lead for journalistic investigation ould be the drop in gun-related deaths because of better emergency care and medical attention. WHEN the police arrive maybe a corner should be disputed as well. Dispatch time and response time from police equals good possibility of body recovery. Yes I have followed the news stories and there is a shoot in the Eastside almost everyday of the year, then the people on that side of town complained that the media was giving them a bad rap! Hey they could also stop robbing and killing each other! Like that is ever going to happen!

Ok people have any of you followed the gun related deaths in Bakersfield over the years? If you had you will see that for the most part it has been within a square mile on the eastside of town centered on Virginia Ave! These gang baggers are killing each other and that's not a bad thing as long as they stay on their block! As for a few of the other gun related deaths they are home owner killing the gang baggers when they break into their homes, again not a bad thing! Now if only we can reduce the killings to only the gang baggers!

kknjtg, if you get woke in the middle of the night tonight with the sound of someone kicking in your door, intent to do who knows what to you, make sure you call 911 asap. Then hide under your bed and wait for the police to arrive. But people who are prepared to defend themselves won't crawl away and hide.
