An argument lead to a shooting in Oildale early Monday morning. Just after midnight, Sheriff's deputies were called to reports of a gunshot victim. They found the 39-year-old man in the 400 block of Wilson Avenue.

Deputies say the man was at an apartment on Woodrow Avenue when an argument broke out with three other people, including the suspect, 34-year-old Richard Graves, who then shot the victim and fled the apartment.

Graves was taken into custody and booked for assault with a deadly weapon.

The victim was transported to Kern Medical Center. His injuries are considered not life threatening.
