April unemployment report: rate fell to 8.1%, hiring slowed

The nation's unemployment has fallen to 8.1%, and hiring slowed sharply in April for the second month straight.

Last month's hiring decline is the result of people giving up their job searches.

The Labor Department's April jobs report shows employers did add 115,000 jobs.  But that was less than the 154,000 jobs added in March.

Analysts say it's a sobering reminder that the economy remains weak.
