LOCATION: 7800 Block of Harold Way
DATE OF DEATH: May 24, 2009 TIME: 0141 Hours
PLACE OF DEATH: Kern Medical Center
INVESTIGATING AGENCY: Kern County Sheriff's Office
The decedent was shot by another.
Details:At 1215 A.M., Deputies were dispatched to a shooting in Lamont. Deputies located the victim in the 7800 block of Harold St. The victim had multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Kern Medical Center where he later died from his injuries. The victim was a Hispanic male adult who has not been identified.
A suspect was also located in the 7800 block of Harold St. He was identified as Ricardo Jimenez Salazar, age 37, from Lamont. Salazar was arrested and the weapon was recovered.
Motive for the shooting is unknown. The victim and suspect had been in an argument prior to the shooting. This incident is not gang related. Investigation is continuing.
