I meant IRA's in my comment below. Not IRS. Dang auto spell check. :>) Of course I need a grammar check and a proof reader too. LOL And I can't find a way to edit. I have a 32 inch monitor and I still can't see. HaHa

All retirements including 401k's, IRS's Private and Union pensions, Social Security and VA benefits are 'Lien Proof'. It's not just government pensions. Ever wonder how OJ Simpson lived so well? All of his money was in retirement accounts. That money can not even be touched by a court order. Except for such a few things things such as child support. If your home is homesteaded You are basically lien proof. Credit cards and such can not touch you. Makes you wonder why credit card companies offer credit to the retired. Even money in savings account can not be touched as long as it was derived from retirement funds. It is a shame the further research isn't done before articles such as these are written. It is written to sound like another government gone amuck situation. But it is basic law governing pensions and retirements of all kinds.

Sure taking away the retirement people have worked for all their life is wrong, now paying it to them while they are a guest of the state is also wrong, pay it back to the state while they are locked up for their up keep and they can start receiving it again when they get out if they ever do.

If you lose your job because of abuse perpetrated on the job or otherwise are convicted of a crime committed on the job, you should lose your pension. A pension is earned through hard work and performing your job properly. You should not be rewarded for not doing so.

"Unusually close relationship" really Kiyoshi? You mean the pervert tauzer(purposely left lower case) who used Hillis' sons' addiction to take advantage of him and engage in homosexuality. Kyoshi you are weak, report it the way it really was. Hillis protected his child from continued abuse from a perverted predator. Tauzer was and will always be remembered as a molester and was dealt with as all molesters should be dealt with. I have an idea Kiyoshi, how about every time you publish another piece of crap left leaning liberal journalism like this one. You lose a portion of your precious 401K. Although these men may have been convicted of wrong doing, they served and dedicated the majority of their life and time to the community that all of us live in. When trouble arose they ran towards it so you wouldnt have to Kiyoshi. And better yet, how about you ask yourself which way would you run. Although their legacies may have been tarnished (in some peoples eyes), their service to the community should be aprreciated and never forgotten.

these retirements were earned legally, and should not be taken away, unless awarded as a judgement against the crime committed, but just to change the law, penalizing somebodies retirement that they have worked for is not right.

on the fence about this. on one hand, Dep Lindini was abusive to many many inmates during his career, but not until the time he was left alone in the gym with many inmates who ended up attacking & beating him to a pulp. he developed issues after that incident. i also retired from the dept because of stress-related illness, but wasn't even counseled on a medical retirement, which would've given me more in pension than the $1,250/mo i get now. City, County & State employees are no different than large corporation execs who break the law & are incarcerated, & still get to keep their yearly bonuses & enormous pensions. as far as Donny Youngblood goes, he wouldn't comment on this issue because he wasn't Sheriff at the time of the Moore/Lindini incident, but he's been Sheriff during a lot of the others. Where Moore's concerned, i was working there the night of that incident & saw how he behaved with the deputies before the situation got out of hand. my thought was "wow! that guy's a monster! look how he's head-butting & kicking the deputies!" yeah, he was a sweetheart....right.
