As the weather gets warmer, air conditioning equipment has to work harder and will use more energy to maintain comfortable conditions in your home. It is possible, though, to stay cool and comfortable in the warmer months without wasting energy. Remember these tips when you use your air conditioner: * Keep the thermostat at seventy-eight degrees or higher. * Turn the unit off if you are away for four hours or more. * Clean or replace the filter each month. * Keep furniture or other obstructions away from the return air grills. * Have the air conditioning unit inspected or serviced annually. and * Keep the area around the outside condensing unit clear of grass and other obstructions. For more specific information, contact your local air conditioning professional.
