People who lost everything in the West and Bull fires are trying to figure out what the future holds for them.
The West Fire in Tehachapi destroyed 23 homes and 40 other structures.
Many of the homeowners have no insurance.
But the community is rallying around them, offering trailer homes, food and clothing to help victims get back on their feet.
Not only did Suky Crandall and her husband lose their home, but the fire turned on them so quickly, they had no time to save their pets - a dozen goats, chickens, geese and a couple of cats.
"Just seeing them dead. They were smoking, and I just lost it," said Crandall. "And it looks like a war zone. It looks like it was bombed. There's just nothing left."
After she saw her dead animals, Crandall's blood pressure soared so high she had to be rushed to the hospital.
Her doctor told her not to go back to Old West Ranch.
She's now looking for a place to put the mobile home someone has loaned her.
The Kern Chapters of the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army are coordinating relief efforts for victims of the West Fire.
