Surveillance video that shows a man walking into a New Martinsville, West Virginia ABC store, taking money and shoving items in his pockets led police to Timothy Parker this week.

Police Chief Tim Cecil said the video also shows Parker getting away from the scene on a motorized wheelchair.

Police arrested Parker on Monday and charged him with breaking and entering.

They said they were able to recover the merchandise stolen from the ABC Store.

They also towed a motorized wheelchair when they arrested Parker.

It's been sitting at a local garage ever since.

Cecil said the status of that piece of evidence was discussed on Thursday at Parker's pretrial hearing.

"The motorized wheelchair has been released. Soon as he can pay for the tow bill he can have his motorized chair back," Cecil said.

Cecil also said that Parker was spotted on the surveillance tape at the store the night before the break-in.

But he says Parker's arrest doesn't help to solve several other break-ins in New Martinsville lately, two of which happened while Parker was in jail.

"Doolin's Bank, the drive-thru, the door was pried on. They did not get anything from there. They got some wine from the Pasta Bella," Cecil said.

Cecil added that while officers are working diligently to solve those break-ins, they have not made any arrests yet.
