If you want to make your voice heard about the proposed high speed rail system through Kern County, you better hurry up.

If built as now conceptualized, the train will link Sacramento and the Bay Area with Southern California and come right through Bakersfield.

If you want to comment on the plans, you can go to the HSR website, at www.cahighspeedrail.ca.gov or by going to the hot link button on our website, www.kget.com.

The deadline for commenting on this version of the plan is Thursday.

But a second version of the plan will be out in six months, and there will be a whole new comment period on that version.
