Some "ruff" times for a local dog rescue. Organizers say 10 thousand dollars worth of food was stolen out of a trailer in front of the owner's home.

Patricia Irwin founded HALT in 2009. Halt stands for Helping Animals Live Tomorrow. She says the non-profit was given 16 hundred pounds of top-dollar dog food from a Canadian company.

She left the bags inside a trailer in front of her home Thursday night after picking up the food in Los Angeles. She planned to put the bags in the HALT storage first thing in the morning.

But by Friday morning the dog food, trailer and her truck were missing.

If you have any information on the dog food theft, call Bakersfield Police at 661-327-7111.
