The public is invited to Keene Monday to witness President Barack Obama dedicate the Cesar Chavez National Monument.

A spokesman for the United Farm Workers Union and the Cesar Chavez Foundation expect thousands to attend the event.
But we don't know yet how many people will be accommodated. If you would like to attend, you need to sign up.  Visit www.ufw.org or www.chavezfoundation.org.  There you can enter your name, address and contact information.  That information will be forwarded to the White House.

I am always amazed at the stupidity of some people. Farm workers were not getting paid a living wage. I suggest that the person who believes the statement of murph56 go out and do one day of farm labor during the summer months and then see if what Mr. Chavez fought for was wrong. Farmers should have been paying a fair wage from the beginning and not putting the workers in harms way, then none of it would have been necessary. The farmers that went out of business simply sold their farms to others who were willing to comply. Study your history murph56.

A national monument to Chavez? What idiot came up with this one? Chavez was nothing but a big pain in the rear for the farmers of this state and because of him a lot of them went out of business, somthing like Obama!
