Zip codes don't just determine where mail is sent anymore. Researchers are now studying the five digits to see how long people will live.

Their new report breaks down life expectancy by zip code. Researchers looked at the San Joaquin Valley from 1999 to 2007.

The findings show people in some areas are living over 20 years longer than others in another zip code.
