If you're going out on the town New Year's Eve, make sure you have a designated driver.

The Advanced Beverage Company is once again sponsoring it's Bud Light Designated Driver Program.  The program offers free cab rides home for adults who choose to drink and don't have a designated driver.

Rides will be offered new year's eve between 10 p-m and 3 a-m.  Because it's a popular service, it's recommended you call 30 to 45 minutes before you'd like to be picked up.

The phone number to call is 325-5041.  Rides are limited to destinations in Bakersfield.

AAA is also offering its free Tipsy Tow service.  Rides and tows are available starting 6:00 p.m. Friday until 6:00 am. January first.

Call 1-800-400-4AAA for a free tow home up to seven miles.  The service is only available for the driver and the car, not passengers.

The CHP will be out in full force as well to catch those who choose to drive under the influence.

Are the free rides home going to be license drivers or will they need backup when they get pulled over?
