The Kern County Public Health Services Department is announcing the schedule for our annual fall flu vaccine clinics. These clinics are available at low cost to the general public and will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
“As a new flu season approaches, we are encouraging that everyone six months and older receive their flu shot,” states Dr. Claudia Jonah, Kern County Health Officer. “However, it is still very important for those who are at highest risk to come for a vaccination.”
Dr. Jonah adds, “The high risk target groups for flu vaccine include children, those 65 and over, pregnant women, and anyone with an underlying chronic condition that weakens the immune system, such as HIV, asthma or cancer.”
