What we need is for the local law to enforce the law AKA DO THEIR JOB I know we can't ask them to do that the unions will start a strike and protest! But if the law would enforce the litter law and hit people with the $1,000 fine and stop looking the other way and I have seen them look the other way many times, there must have been fresh donuts at the shop of something waiting. Another helpful item would to get the prisoners back to work picking up the trash around the county, forget what all of the bleeding heart groups think about it, these prisoners need to give back!

We were given a map by the Solid Waste Division on which we were to mark the address where we piled all of the trash. The map was turned in by one of the volunteers, who happened to be a City of Bakersfield employee. Even if this paperwork was lost, the huge pile in the alley was very visible from the park. Someone should have been able to figure out that this was part of the clean up effort.

They just came and cleaned up the area because most of that trash is gone now. Thank God. Let's HOPE it can stay that way for a while...

It's not laziness, it's the culture of the people who leave the trash!

I always was taught to leave a area cleaner than when you found it. If everyone one did just a little more than their share things would look better. Go hiking around the river and you see all kinds of litter including dirty diapers. If you can pack it in, pack it out. Pure laziness.
