Rob Martin is the weekend meteorologist for News 17, seen at 5 and 11PM on weekends. He was born and raised on the west coast and is proud to be back after chasing tornadoes and trying to stay warm in the harsh climate of North Dakota.
Rob dreamed of being a weatherman since he was 5 years old! He graduated from the University of Utah, receiving his B.S. Meteorology degree in May of 2008. At the University of Utah, Rob was President of the student chapter of the American Meteorological Society and was a children's mentor for an after school program.
Rob is also an accomplished reporter, having some of his work featured on NBC Nightly News from the devastating 2011 Minot, ND floods. You will also see Rob reporting weekdays on 17 News.
