Kelsey Thomas joined 17 News as a reporter in June 2010. Prior to joining 17 News, Kelsey delivered the news to viewers across Montana as an anchor and reporter for KFBB-TV. After spending two years in Big Sky Country, she wanted to return to her home state of California to be closer to her family. So when 17 News came calling, she packed her bags and headed straight to Bakersfield.
Raised in Southern California, Kelsey attended the University of San Diego, where she graduated with a degree in Communication Studies. While at USD, she reported for the school's TV station and was active in the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
During college, Kelsey interned at KUSI-TV, where she took a job as a news writer after graduation. Kelsey also spent time working as a news writer at KDOC-TV in Orange County before heading to Montana to pursue her dreams of becoming a reporter.
Kelsey was raised in Orange County, but is happy to call Bakersfield her new home. When she's not working, Kelsey enjoys playing with her pug Gus, spending time with her fiancé and attempting to become as good a cook as her mother.
