Katie Harlan joined the 17 News team in March of 2006 as a general assignment reporter and was quickly promoted to anchor 17 News at Sunrise and 17 News at Noon.
Katie graduated from the University of Southern California where she majored in International Relations. During schooling, Katie interned at KTLA, KTVU, and E! Entertainment Television. One of her first interviews was with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas.
Katie's first job was at CTV 30 in Pleasanton, California. Katie was a reporter, anchor, and producer at the community station. In 2004, Katie moved to Oregon to be a reporter and producer for KVAL-TV.
She was raised in Danville, a suburb of San Francisco. Katie and her husband are extremely happy to be back home in the Golden State, close to friends and family.
When Katie's not at 17 News, you can catch her cheering the Trojans to victory or soaking up the Kern County sunshine.
