Jim Scott has been broadcasting the news in Kern County since 1983. Born and raised in Casper, Wyoming, Jim's career in broadcasting started in high school, as a graveyard shift deejay for a top-40 AM radio station in his hometown.

Tami Mlcoch joined 17 News in April, 2000. After six years of waking up early to deliver the news, she moved to nights to anchor 17 News at 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. with Jim Scott.

Rachelle Murcia joined the 17 News team in August of 2011. She is a weekday anchor and reporter. She is thrilled to be closer to family and to be a part of this community.

Kiyoshi Tomono joined the 17 News team in March of 2004. He currently anchors 17 News at Sunrise and reports for other newscasts.

Maddie Janssen joined the 17 News team in August 2009. She began as a reporter, later moving to weekend anchor. Now she has the pleasure of waking up every morning to anchor 17 News at Sunrise.

Chief Meteorologist Alissa Carlson has crossed the country covering all types of weather. She's forecasted weather for Kern County's Valley, Mountains, and Deserts since 2007.

Kevin Charette joined the 17 weather team in September 2005. Originally from Washington state, he began his broadcasting career as a reporter and weekend weathercaster at the NBC station in Medford, Oregon.

Rob Martin is the weekend meteorologist for News 17, seen at 5 and 11PM on weekends. He was born and raised on the west coast and is proud to be back after chasing tornadoes and trying to stay warm in the harsh climate of North Dakota.

Lonni Rivera joined the 17 News team in April of 2011. Bit by the journalism bug in 5th grade, Lonni always knew she would be a broadcast journalist.

Mark Haas is KGET's Sports Director, anchoring sports Monday through Friday at 5, 6 and 11 and also hosting Friday Football Extra and the Sunday Edition of FFX.

A Santa Clarita native, Trevor Thompson is happy to be reporting and doing weekend sports in Bakersfield.

Originally from Los Angeles, Victoria Spilabotte is a graduate of the Annenberg School of Journalism at the University of Southern California. She joined the 17 News team in July 2010 as a video journalist.

Kelsey Thomas joined 17 News as a reporter in June 2010. Prior to joining 17 News, Kelsey delivered the news to viewers across Montana as an anchor and reporter for KFBB-TV.

Heather joined the 17 News team in December 2011 as a multimedia journalist. She previously worked as a multimedia journalist for AOL's Patch.com in Culver City, CA covering health and environment.
