Dee wants to know what happened to the funds set aside for the original widening of Allen Road?
Kern County Roads Department Director Craig Pope says there were never funds set aside for the widening of Allen Road but it is in the impact fee program.
It is one of the top three projects in the program and those stretches of road were developed before the current widening standards were in place.
Now it is up to the department to create programs and find funding for those projects.
Pope is hopeful the roadwork will be done in the next couple of years.
