Zina wants to know if her landlord is required to give her a 24-hour notice to shut off her water?

Attorney David Stiles tells us in California, utilities are required to give non-subscriber users such as tenants written notice before shutting off service.

But, if the service break is brief, like for plumbing repairs, there are no specific regulations.  But if the duration is unreasonable, it could excuse the tenant from paying rent during the outage.
