Mike Connor, Superintendent of the Public Works Streets Division says Lake Street is scheduled for resurfacing next week.
The canal belongs to Kern Delta, with the fences maintained by Public Works, at this particular location.
About three weeks ago, street crews started repairing the washout under the fence, and when that is completed repairs will start on the fence.
