If its such a big deal to the United Farm Workers then they can put the workers up in a hotel and the problem is solved. That won't happen because they don't care about the workers. They care about the dues they pay. The work ended in Washington, game over. If they want to save money then haul butt back to good old Mexico. And they can take their union with them and lets see how long they stay alive dictating to the Mexican Government.

This is a good start but what about installing solar panneled covered parking at the airport. The powers that be only need to go as far as Chester and China Grade Loop to see some of these parking shade/solar panels already installed and in use at the Anytime Fitness Gym.

One of the problems with drug use is that any common sense that someone had before they did drugs will be seriously depleted with their use of drugs. Which is why it is so important to discuss this with your children before they ever even think about taking drugs. “Just Say No!” Is the right attitude to have. Raise your children to be confident enough that they will not give in when others temp them with drugs. Teach your children that “misery loves company” and that sometimes people who have already screwed up their own lives with drugs are jealous of those who are still using their good sense. Drug users will try to get you to do drugs because they want to drag you down to their own level. Quite often they are doing this subconsciously. Some people practice a similar form of companion destruction when they try to convince others to skip school with them. I have seen young men who feel like they have no future sabotage the college careers of their girlfriends because they feel the need to hold the girls back. They seem to fear that the better educated these women become the more likely they will be to not “settle” for life with anyone who does not try their hardest to succeed. I have seen girls on basketball scholarships have to drop out of college because they have broken ribs from their boyfriends beating them. I have seen girls who became pregnant and had to put their educations on hold because their mediocre boyfriends needed to reign them in before they got too used to hanging out with folks who had goals and were “going places”. Everyday our children are faced with choices. Talk to them now, give them the tools to make the right ones. Please parents encourage your childen to be the best that they can be. Lay down some rules and outline the consequences if they disobey.

Yes, it sounds like you do...I have a daughter that is 10 years of age it is just me and her. I'm not sure how I would handle something like the Brock incident if it happened to me.(Give the parents my regards) I'm glad I have enough sense to stay away from drugs and the lowlifes that use them to raise my daughter proper. I find it hard to believe some women choose that lifestyle over their children!

Nameless, about my experience. I knew Brock Bellue & I know both his parents, & many of his aunts, uncles,& cousins.Brock's mom is probably correct when she says that if Mr.Tutton had not had all these chances at rehab he would have been behind bars & not driving the streets in an impaired state. I have seen how families lost their homes and all their savings because they had to hire attorneys & pay settlements for the damages their “stoned” offspring caused in car wrecks. I have a neighbor that inherited her parent’s home & about $3 million in assets. It is gone now because of her overwhelming need to satisfy her meth addiction. Drug addicts do not always originate in low-income neighborhoods. It seems to me that with many illegal drugs there is a fine line between being “just a user” & becoming an addict. Which leads me back to my earlier statement. Avoid a problem with drugs by never starting to take them in the first place. Dealing drugs is a high profit industry with ruthless CEOs. I have read the Homeland Security Report to Congress; A Line in the Sand: Confronting the Threat at the Southwest Border. I recommend it to all of you to read, as it is very enlightening. You can obtain a copy from a government website http://www.house.gov/mccaul/pdf/Investigaions-Border-Report.pdf. I will no longer accept the argument that no one is really hurt if people just want to smoke a little pot in the privacy of their own homes. If you buy illegal drugs you are supporting an industry that murders people and destabilizes the judicial and law enforcement systems of other countries. These drug dealers have unlimited funds to buy the latest and greatest weapons. They have technology that they use to avoid the DEA and Border Patrol that are on par with the best that our own military can buy. If you buy illegal drugs it ruins this country & causes our local, state, & national governments to spent billions of dollars that should be put to so much better use.

There are so many problems with the way things are run in this state. There is not enough importance placed on hard work and personal responsibility. The best way to deal with a problem is to never have it occur in the first place. Today after your children come home from school have a talk with them about drugs. Explain to them how drugs will change their perception of everything around them and that once they start doing drugs they will do things that they would never have dreamed of doing before they did drugs. Talk to them about the suffering that drug use brings to families. Have them read the articles about this car wreck. Talk to them about how Mr. Tutton or another person on drugs could just have easily wrecked into your own family’s car. Talk to them about how damaged their own future would be if they were to cause such a wreck. The era of parents shrugging their shoulders and saying, “kids will to kids” is over. Drug use is a big contributor to the decay of our standard of living in California. The best way to avoid a problem with drugs is to never start using them. People who do drugs become very selfish people who very often do not honor the concept of personal property. They will steal from everyone, even their beloved Grandparents. Don’t wait till your kids are older. Talk to them now. It is never too early to discuss the dangers of drugs with your children it can only be TOO LATE. If by chance you yourself are using illegal drugs, please make a plan to stop. Look at your children and resolve to start a sober life for their sakes.

I am not a drug addict, but have dealed with getting my husband clean 4 now 6yrs!! He also went thru this program which I have held him by the hand to make sure he went down there and was discussed by what I would always see. These people have been in and out several times and do think its funny... When there POs. walk thru the hall they know them so well they know them by name. Most of the ones down there waiting to be seen look like they are high they don't always test them shoot I don't remember my husband ever being tested. I finally had to put him in a mens home cause calling his po on him, telling them he violated, only at the max he would get 60 days in jail, or if on good behavior he would get out sooner. Not even the mens homes help they let them out within 30 days to work for ther program but can walk the streets freely sometimes get tested when they walk in depending who's at the counter to let them sneak by!!! like I said I have done this for a long time and its all pointless unless they are ready to clean up all on there own. I finally gave up and left him in gods hands and hope he will realize everything he lost..

I met Tommy previously at the Thanksgiving volunteer turkey giveaway 2007. I think he would make a great Orange County Sheriff!
